The "Herlev model" is a KRs Opus 3 hospital bed adapted to suit Herlev Hospital’s unique internal logistics system: the conveyor line. A chain system under the hospital transports unclean beds for cleaning and bed-making, and moves clean beds to bases from where they can be collected by staff for use in different parts of the hospital.

On the "Herlev model", we have added special fittings to the four corners of the bed construction to allow the conveyor chain to lift the bed and transport it through the system. Because Herlev Hospital is bound by a range of design requirements, the Opus 3 "Herlev Model" has been painted a dusty blue-green colour – fully in line with the original hospital design from the 1960s.

In 2006, KR won the contract to supply hospital beds to Herlev, Glostrup and Gentofte, precisely because we are always able to adapt our standard bed models to accommodate the wishes and requirements of individual hospitals.

The Opus 3 was originally developed in 2003 in close collaboration with the Hospital of Southwest Jutland in Esbjerg, Aarhus University Hospital in Skejby, and Randers Regional Hospital.

It combines stability, mobility and a range of unique functions in a tried and tested, easy-to-clean, and reliable hospital bed.
